First Aid – FIRST AID – CPR

Example training program:

1. Safety rules at the incident scene, procedures, moral responsibility of the rescuer – the chain of survival,
2. First aid kit and basic rescue equipment,
3. Organization of a rescue operation: assessment of the incident scene, assessment of basic vital signs according to the ABC scheme; calling emergency medical services, emergency numbers, use of personal protective equipment, methods of checking consciousness according to the BTLS scheme, risks resulting from loss of consciousness, procedures for an unconscious person – recovery position, wounds and bleeding – identification, types of dressings and their application, dealing with foreign bodies, musculoskeletal injuries – symptoms of fractures, dislocations, sprains, procedures, immobilization and transport, choking, injuries, bites, stings, procedures in case of anaphylactic shock, first aid for adults and children, safe position, spinal injuries, principles of moving and transporting injured persons, psychological aspects of supporting the injured person, the role of a witness in the chain of survival, cardiopulmonary resuscitation performed using an AED, chest compressions, artificial respiration using the mouth-to-mouth and mouth-to-nose methods, first aid in cases of hypothermia and overheating, thermal burns, chemical burns, frostbite, sudden illnesses and life-threatening conditions – fainting, heart attack, seizure, stroke, bronchial asthma, poisoning, evacuation from a danger zone, hazard assessment, providing first aid in simulated situations.

Learning outcomes:
- ability to apply applicable legal regulations regarding first aid,
- use of emergency telephone numbers and communication with rescue services,
- providing first aid to an injured person depending on the identified threat.
