Become a Captain is an advanced training cruise on the waters of the Mediterranean Sea, created for people who want to reach a higher level of independence in commanding yachts. Do you already hold a license and want to develop real captain-level skills? Are you planning to obtain the Offshore Motorboat Helmsman or Yacht Master Offshore certificate? Or are you starting from scratch and want to gain your qualifications in a real offshore environment? This cruise combines intensive training, captain-level responsibility and true sea experience.

What do we offer?

“Become a Captain” is a week-long intensive training and internship cruise conducted on the waters of the Mediterranean Sea, with a strong focus on practical command of a vessel.

During the cruise participants gain knowledge and experience in:

- marine navigation and voyage planning
- meteorology and captain-level decision making
- yacht construction and operation
- seamanship work
- port manoeuvres and anchoring
- operating a vessel in various conditions
- crew management and watch organization

The training is conducted by an experienced captain–instructor team, and participants gradually take responsibility for commanding the yacht.

The program is enriched with recreational and tourism elements:

- sightseeing in historic port cities
- stops in bays and near beaches
- water and beach sports
- integration events
- relaxation activities (yoga)
- Latin dance

Recreational participation – is it possible?

Yes.

The cruise allows participation in a recreational format for people who want to enjoy the beauty of the Mediterranean Sea without actively taking part in the training.

Captain and crew:

- take full responsibility for operating the vessel
- allow participation in selected elements of the program
- ensure a comfortable and individualized cruise experience

The cruise route runs between ports and islands of the Mediterranean Sea and is adjusted each time according to weather conditions.

Day 1
- 09:00 – meeting at the marina
- 10:00 – bosun’s breakfast
- 11:00 – theoretical classes
- 14:00 – seamanship work
- 16:30 – embarkation and safety briefing
- 21:00 – captain’s dinner and cruise briefing

Day 2
- morning briefing and departure
- practical and navigation training
- anchoring stop
- arrival at temporary port, free time

Day 3
- sailing between ports and islands
- stops in bays, relaxation
- evening beach party

Day 4
- recreational day
- arrival at temporary port
- regional dinner and integration

Day 5
- training cruise
- water and beach sports
- captain’s dinner – summary of the current stage

Day 6
- intensive training sailing
- independent yacht command under captain’s supervision

- exam preparation (for interested participants)

Day 7
- 06:30 – breakfast
- 07:30 – exam (for interested participants)
- 10:00 – disembarkation and end of the cruise

Vessels

The cruise is conducted on offshore yachts adapted for bluewater sailing, enabling captain-level training, watch system work and comfortable life on board.

Captain team

The cruise is led by captains with extensive offshore experience, specializing in advanced training and internship cruises.

Important organizational information

The final cruise plan is determined during the captain’s dinner and may change during the cruise. The captain’s decisions are final and made in the interest of the safety of participants, crew and the vessel.

Changes may result from, among others:

- weather conditions
- health situations of participants
- safety communications (Mayday, Pan Pan, Securité)
- vessel malfunction
- behaviour threatening safety
- extraordinary situations

Requirements

  1. Minimum age of 18.
  2. Possession of an identity card valid for at least 6 months from the planned end date of the cruise.
  3. For international cruises outside the SCHENGEN zone, a seafarer’s book or passport is required – the document must be valid for at least 6 months from the planned end date of the cruise.

Additional documents required before the cruise

  1. Application form.
  2. Health declaration form.
  3. Cruise agreement.
  4. Membership declaration or a statement of resignation from membership in the Ocean Angels Club association.


All required documents: application form, forms, agreement, declarations or resignation statement, general terms of participation in the cruise – will be provided after booking a place and paying the full participation fee or 25% of the cruise fee.

What to bring

  1. waterproof clothing,
  2. clothing as needed (recommended: sports shoes, comfortable loose warm clothing, swimsuit),
  3. required medications according to the participant’s health condition,
  4. passenger safety card (available on our boat),

What does the price include?

  1. participation in the cruise training,
  2. training materials,
  3. Bosun’s breakfast,
  4. participation in the Captain’s dinner,
  5. certificate of participation in the cruise,
  6. preparation of an individual cruise opinion/report,


What is not included in the price?

  1. regional purchases,
  2. costs incurred in visited ports,
  3. restaurants, pubs, cafés in visited ports,
  4. inland motorboat helmsman exam – 250 PLN,
  5. offshore motorboat helmsman exam – 350 PLN,


IMPORTANT FINANCIAL INFORMATION!
1. The stated price is a net price and does not include VAT. The price is complete and does not include hidden costs not described in this card. Currency: PLN (Polish Zloty).

2. The participation fee for the cruise can be paid in three ways: online via an external payment operator, bank transfer to the account specified in the agreement (before registering please contact us to receive a special code allowing you to proceed to the payment stage), or in cash with the instructor or at the office/location/partner.

3. A person interested in the cruise may pay a deposit using a special code that allows a 25% deposit payment. To receive the code, contact us – we will send the code to your email address or via SMS to your phone number. Deposit payment is possible only up to 35 days before the planned cruise.

4. The participant is required to pay the full amount no later than 30 days before the cruise. Failure to complete payment within this time will result in removal from the participant list without the possibility of refunding the deposit.

5. In the event that the cruise is cancelled by the organizer, the paid funds will be returned to the participant’s bank account provided in the application form within 3 days from the moment the cancellation information is communicated. The funds are returned in full without deductions or hidden fees.
